Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage focuses on the release of chronic tension patterns from the body’s deeper tissue layers. Through slow, deep strokes, finger pressure in contracted muscles, and manipulation of muscle fiber adhesions and tight connective tissue, the therapist aims to release long held patterns of tension.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger Point Therapy—Sore areas usually referred to as "knots" are most likely trigger points. Active trigger points are tender and often refer pain to other parts of the body when pressure is applied. The purpose of trigger point therapy is to eliminate pain and to re-educate the muscles into pain-free habits.

CranioSacral Therapy (CST)

CranioSacral Therapy (CST)—Developed by Dr. John Upledger, CST is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the function of the nervous system, thus aiding the body’s own natural healing response to the negative effects of stress and trauma.  The intention of CST is to facilitate the release of contracted muscles and chronically held tension patterns within the tissues.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot Stone Massage is a specialty massage that uses smooth, heated stones in combination with traditional Swedish massage strokes. It is a deeply soothing, relaxing form of massage. The heat helps release tight muscles while the placement of stones along the spine and other major joints aids the flow of energy in the body.  WarmIng the body to the core, it is the perfect cold weather treat!

Acupuncture

Oriental medicine focuses on the connectivity of an individual’s three essential beings: the physical, emotional and spiritual. The connections between these three beings are mapped on the body through the movement of energetic channels, or pathways, called meridians. When there is smooth and easy flow of energy through the meridians the individual experiences health, peace and tranquility. When the flow is disrupted or impeded there is a resulting disharmony within the three bodies, causing pain, sickness and disease, not only for the physical being, but for the emotional and spiritual, as well.
